Barney Artist unveils second heartfelt single ‘Rose Thorn’ off his upcoming debut album.
As a long running favourite of ours, we’ve been watching closely as East London rapper Barney Artist continues to tease his soon-to-be-released album. Following the release of ‘Something True’ last month, this latest delivery goes further to secure the hype around the 26 year-old’s debut record.
Produced in collaboration with Kostral, a blend of flirtatious trims of guitar, glowing synths and Dornik’s blissful vocals lay the backdrop to this low-fi number. It’s a cocktail that gracefully makes room for Barney’s laid-back, introspective flow as he continues to refine his soul-soaked brand of hip-hop.
Speaking about the release, Barney said “It’s pretty much a representation of my love including all the ups and downs! I was so happy to get my boy Dornik on it he’s absolutely incredible and nails the vibe completely!! This one should be played on a hot day with a lovely cider.. LOUDLY”. We couldn’t agree more.
Home Is Where The Art Is is due to be released later this year.
